Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram has warned the current national team who are facing a must-win situation in their remaining two games in the league stage of the World Cup. They need to win all their remaining games by big margins to qualify for the semi-final of the World Cup.
Pakistan so far have won three games and lost four out of the seven games played. They are placed fifth on the points table with matches against New Zealand and England to follow. The team and their skipper Babar Azam is under pressure with big games lined up against tough opposition.
Pakistan needs other results to go their way along with ensuring that they win their remaining games. The team is in turmoil as per reports with the management and the players not being on the same page in terms of opinion. With resolved to be solved internally, Wasim Akram has warned the Pakistan team to focus on their upcoming games.

“They (Pakistan) can only do one thing. They just have to win their games and then hope and pray that other teams provide favorable results. Because those things aren’t in your control. If New Zealand loses by a big margin, again, that’s not in Pakistan’s control. They should focus on their cricket. The next two games are against big teams,” Akram said on A Sports.
He further said that he fears that England might defeat Pakistan despite they themselves being close to elimination. They have a mathematical chance to make the semid but can certainly spoil Pakistan’s chances if they beat them.
“I’m scared of England because they are out. They are going to play fearless cricket. They have nothing to lose. They will be aggressive and will intend to spoil someone’s party,” the 57-year-old added.
Pakistan started with back-to-back wins and then went on a four-match losing streak before coming back to winning ways against Bangladesh. They will now face the Kiwis in Bangalore on November 4, Saturday.
