The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the top 10 fielders after six group games for each country in the ICC World Cup 2023. New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner has outperformed Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in the marquee tournament.
Mitchell Santner has taken four catches in six World Cup matches, but his fielding impact goes beyond catches. He showcased his agility and precision in various fielding aspects. The all-rounder has the biggest impact in the field, with an impressive 43.28 rating points.
The 31-year-old spinner has saved a total of nine runs in the field. He has excelled in various fielding categories, including pressure ratings, accurate throws, and attempted run-outs. Currently, Santner is leading in the competition for overall fielding impact.
Two Indian Players In Top 10 Players In World Cup 2023
South African batter David Miller and Australian opener David Warner are in second and third place for the fielding impact rankings, respectively. Virat Kohli, who initially led the rankings, has now slipped to sixth place, with Ravindra Jadeja at fifth in the fielding chart.
Both India and Australia have contributed two players each to the top 10. Liam Livingstone holds fourth place on the list. Netherlands cricketer Sybrand Engelbrecht is at the seventh spot, followed by Glenn Maxwell. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadab Khan.
