England National Cricket Team Test captain Ollie Pope talked about the team's smashing win over Pakistan National Cricket Team in the first Test at Multan. He said that the victory was one of the top wins that the team has attained in the Bazball era.

Ollie Pope, who was the stand-in captain for the England National Cricket Team in the first Test against Pakistan, had a great outing as skipper. Under him, the team registered a massive innings and 47 runs victory in the first game at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

Pakistan posts 556 runs on board in the first innings

England didn't have a great start with the ball as they were made to toil hard with the ball. The Ollie Pope's team were asked to field first and not much went their way on the first two days. Pakistan players were all over the bowlers, and they ended up with a massive total.

Pakistan skipper Shan Masood (151) slammed a big ton while Abdullah Shafique (102) also supported him well. The duo batted positively, and after that, Saud Shakeel (82) also came up with a vital effort with the bat as he hit a terrific half-century to take the team past 300 runs.

In the end, Salman Ali Agha, came up with a blistering effort as he also slammed a ton. Based on the collective effort with the bat, Pakistan National Cricket posted a total of 556 runs on the board. It seemed that the game would head towards a draw, but the England National Cricket Team came up with a gigantic effort.

England posted 823 runs on the board in reply

Ollie Pope's team batted positively and with an aggressive mindset. Harry Brook (317) and Joe Root (262) came up with humongous efforts with the bat. They posted a total of 823 runs on the board and took a lead of over 200 runs in the first innings, putting the Pakistan National Cricket Team on the back.

England then made sure they came up with the plans with the ball and they executed their plans to perfection. All the bowlers came up with the vital effort and picked wickets at regular intervals. They bundled out the opposition for 220 runs and won the game by a margin of innings and 47 runs.

It was a superlative effort with the bat and ball for the England National Cricket Team. This was also the first time that a team won the game by the innings despite conceding a total of 500 runs in the first innings.

Ah, I'd be right up there - Ollie Pope on England's Test win in Multan

Ollie Pope talked about the Test win by innings at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. He said that the win is right up there with top wins for the team under Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes. He pointed out some other wins, saying that this is right up there with other wins. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

"Ah, It would be right up there. I think there's probably top, definitely top three. I think I can think of probably Islamabad was right up there and then I think Hyderabad as well was right up there.

"And Trent Bridge, I think probably those four are four of the ones that as a team we really look back on and this is right up there with the rest of them too," said Ollie Pope.
