Ollie Robinson storms into the top five in the ICC Test Rankings
Ollie Robinson has been in excellent form during England's ongoing three-match Test series against Pakistan at home. The fast bowler has won back-to-back Player of the Match awards for his match-winning bowling efforts against Pakistan at Headingley and Lord’s.
The England pacer picked up eight wickets at Lord’s and played a key role in England's series-clinching victory of 195 runs in the second Test against Pakistan. Earlier, Robinson picked up 8 wickets to help England win the first Test by an inning and 103 runs at Headingley.
His performance helped him move up six places in the latest updated ICC Test Rankings. Robinson has now reached fifth position with 831 rating points. He has now joined the top-ranked Mitchell Starc (872), Matt Henry (861), Jasprit Bumrah (853), and Pat Cummins (841) in the top five.
Mitchell Starc remains the No.1 Test bowler
With this, Robinson returned to the top five since July 2023. Australian pacer Mitchell Starc remains the No. 1 Test bowler after his impressive performances against Bangladesh in the home series last month.

Sri Lanka's Kamindu Mendis climbed two places to reach 10th after scoring a half-century in the second innings against India in Colombo. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell moved to the 8th spot.
Dewald Brevis moves closer to Abhishek Sharma
South African star Dewald Brevis has made a strong move in the latest ICC T20I Batting Rankings. Brevis has jumped six places to reach the fourth position in the updated rankings with 806 rating points. He has scored 75, 75 not out, and 41 in three matches of the ongoing tri-series in Namibia.
Brevis is now only behind Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who remains the number one T20I batter in the world with 910 rating points; Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan (848); and Abhishek Sharma (819) in the updated ICC T20I Batting Rankings.
The Proteas star now has the chance to overtake Abhishek in the rankings. Well, Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan remains the number one bowler, while Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza kept the top spot in the all-rounder’s category in the updated ICC T20I rankings shared by the global body on Wednesday, September 2.
