"One-sided clash" - Twitter reacts as India hammer Bangladesh to almost seal spot in T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals

Fans on Twitter reacted after India almost sealed their place in the semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. They defeated Bangladesh by 50 runs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua and Barbuda in a Group 1 encounter on Saturday (22nd June). 

Asked to bat, India was off to a brisk start with the bat as skipper Rohit Sharma (23) and Virat Kohli (37) came out all guns blazing. The senior duo added 39 runs for the opening partnership before Rishabh Pant (36) chipped in with a crucial hand. 

India came under a bit of pressure after that as they lost a few quick wickets. But Shivam Dube (34) and Hardik Pandya (50*) bailed the team out of trouble. They added 53 runs before Pandya slammed a brutal fifty to take India to 196 runs. 

Bangladesh started pretty well with the bat as Litton Das (13) and Tanzid Hasan (29) added 35 runs for the opening stand. After that skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto (40) played a valiant hand to keep his team in the hand. 

The introduction of Kuldeep Yadav changed the course of the game as the wrist-spinner picked three wickets in a flash and put the opposition under pressure at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua and Barbuda to take his team to the winning position. 

India kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals and restricted Bangladesh to 146 and won the game by 50 runs. Apart from Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Jasprit Bumrah picked two wickets each while Hardik Pandya picked one scalp.
