"Our Aim Is To Win The Final" - Mohammed Shami Ready For Ultimate Battle

India defeated New Zealand in the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. With this win the Men In Blue reached their fourth ODI World Cup final. India will face Australia in the finals of the World Cup on Sunday at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Player of the Match for the semi-finals was Mohammed Shami who registered his best figures of 7/57.

Mohammed Shami recorded his third five-wicket haul in this World Cup. He has played just six matches and has taken 23 wickets leading the chart. Shami showcased his mettle with the ball against the Black Caps decimating their entire line-up. He has been a key asset for the Indian team in this World Cup and the highlight is that he was never the first-choice bowler for India.

Mohammed Shami now wishes to repeat his semi-final heroics in the finals against Australia. He talked about his emotions and feelings after the semi-final clash where he said that he didn???t have words to explain. Shami said that he still has to perform in the finals and if India is able to win the World Cup on Sunday then he will whole-heartedly express his true emotions.

Mohammed Shami missed the first four games as the team management backed Shardul Thakur for his batting prowess deep down the order. However, an injury to all-rounder Hardik Pandya made things fall in place for Shami who got his chance in the league-stage encounter against New Zealand. He immediately made an impact taking a five-wicket haul against the Kiwis in the league stage.

Shami then went on to take four wickets against England and again recorded a five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka. He is going to be India???s strike bowler going to the finals of the World Cup.
