'Our Champ, Gautam Gambhir, Is Back Where He Belongs' - Shah Rukh Khan Excited For IPL 2024

Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan expressed excitement for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Shah Rukh Khan welcomed Gautam Gambhir back to the team as a mentor, stating that he is back where he belongs.
Gautam Gambhir is set to rejoin KKR after six years, this time in the role of a mentor. The former opener contributed significantly to the team’s success since being acquired in 2011. He captained KKR to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014, the only titles for the franchise in the IPL.
Out Champ Is Back – Shah Rukh Khan
During a Q&A session on his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), Shah Rukh Khan expressed excitement for the upcoming IPL 2024 and hailed Gautam Gambhir as his returning champion.

Gautam Gambhir, who last played for KKR in 2017, is set to team up with head coach Chandrakant Pandit. The franchise has struggled in recent years, qualifying for the playoffs only once since 2018 and finishing seventh in the standings for two consecutive seasons.
Captain Coming Back Home In A Different Avatar – Shah Rukh Khan
In a statement released by KKR, Shah Rukh Khan described Gautam Gambhir‘s return to the team as the “captain coming back home in a different avatar as a mentor.” Shahrukh emphasized that Gambhir has always been part of the KKR family.
“Gautam has always been part of the family and this is our Captain coming back home in a different avatar as a “Mentor”. He was sorely missed and now we all look forward to Chandu Sir and Gautam in instilling the never-say-die spirit and of sportsmanship they stand for, in creating magic with Team KKR.”
The 42-year-old made his IPL debut with the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) before joining the Knight Riders in 2011. KKR acquired him at the auction for a significant price of Rs. 11.04 crore. The left-handed batter played for Delhi in his last season in 2018.
