This is not the first time that Paddy Upton will be working with the senior national team. He was the mental health coach of India from 2008 to 2011, under the then coach Gary Kirsten. After the ODI World Cup 2011 which India won, Paddy Upton joined the South Africa national team along with Gary Kirsten, who became the new coach of South Africa.
Upton also worked with Rahul Dravid in the latter stages of the latter’s career and also during Indian Premier League, when Rahul Dravid was part of the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils. Now, Indian coach Rahul Dravid and mental health coach Upton will once again work together.
