Kohli's assault began from the outset, racing to his fifty in just 29 balls. The Indian batting superstar reached the milestone with a powerful cut to the boundary from Ravi Bishnoi. He made 50 of his 53 runs with the help of boundaries.

From the very start, Kohli is keeping the bowlers under constant pressure while showing perfect balance and timing in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 encounter.

Virat Kohli Creates List A History with Record Average

It was the sixth consecutive 50+ score for Kohli, sending a huge warning to New Zealand ahead of the ODI series next month. However, Kohli might have missed his century, but he managed to make List A history. He has surpassed Michael Bevan’s 57.86 to record the highest batting average of 57.87 in the history of List A cricket with his stunning knock against Gujarat.

The record highlights Kohli’s unmatched consistency and class over the years, once again proving why he remains one of the greatest batters.

Rishabh Pant inches close to fifty

Now, all eyes are on Delhi captain and Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. He should be aiming to put up a significant contribution with the bat against Gujarat, having flopped in the first game against Andhra Pradesh.

Pant is currently batting on 34 and already smashed three boundaries and one six in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 clash on Friday. Currently Delhi’s score reads 154/5, with Vishal Jayswal taking three big wickets in the ongoing clash at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground.
