Pakistan cricket team won a nerve-wrenching thriller against Afghanistan in the Super 4 stage. Pakistan’s win has made sure that India and Afghanistan won’t qualify for the finals of Asia Cup 2022. There was some unnecessary heated exchange between Asif Ali and Fareed Ahmad in the 19th over when Fareed had gotten rid of Asif. The players and umpires had to intervene and stop the two players from fighting.

Afghanistan cricket team would be in deep pain and would be wondering what went wrong for them. A tail-ender smashing 2 back to back sixes to a frontline seamer is quite humiliating when you had the game in your pocket. We should not forget that Afghanistan had convincingly defeated Sri Lanka in the 1st round.

Shadab Khan on the Incident

Shadab Khan, the leg spinner all-rounder was seen attending the post-match press conference, “They happen in the heat of the moment. Both teams tried to win the match and the incident should be left on the field itself.”

Pakistan’s Disappointing Batting Performance

Chasing 130 is not at all a difficult task in the modern era. The pitch was a bit tacky where the likes of Babar struggled and we have seen “n” times how Pakistan’s innings get into a shell after Babar’s dismissal. Many Experts have said that Pakistan doesn’t have a reliable middle order and against Afghanistan the entire world of cricket witnessed it. It’s almost difficult to fill the shoes of Hafeez and Malik who were the pillars of the batting lineup.

The management should make it absolutely clear as who is there No.4 batter as they have tried 4 different batters in that position. This strategy is not going to win you too many Championships as there has to be some stability in the middle order.

Batting coach Mohammed Yousuf would be questioned for batters wrong shot selection. In modern cricket, the batters have somewhat forgot the importance of taking a single after smashing a six. Men in green would be aware that there is still a lot of work to be done in their batting line up which is quite topsy-turvy.
