Former England captain Michael Vaughan, on Friday (December 29), left a number of fans stunned with his latest remarks for ex-Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez.

In recent times, Michael Vaughan has not squandered a single opportunity to troll Mohammad Hafeez. It all began during the ODI World Cup when the former Pakistan allrounder criticized Virat Kohli’s batting and called him selfish after his century against South Africa.

Michael Vaughan was not impressed by Hafeez’s criticism of Kohli and decided to troll him. The England great had shared a picture of Kohli celebrating the wicket of the former Pakistan batter after dismissing him for 15 during the 2012 T20 World Cup match in Colombo. Later, he shared the video of the dismissal too to have more fun at the expense of Hafeez.

However, on Friday, Michael Vaughan heaped praise on Hafeez for his coaching methods despite Pakistan’s loss in the second Test against Australia. After Pakistan lost the game by 79 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the former cricketer-turned-commentator stated that he was very impressed by Hafeez’s coaching, writing:

“Pakistan were very good this week .. too many extras in the first innings & 2 catches that should have been taken away from a famous win at the G .. been very impressed with @MHafeez22 as coach .. ?”

Unsurprisingly, a number of fans were surprised to see the post from Michael Vaughan for Hafeez. Here are some of the reactions from the fans:

Pakistan lose Test series:

While Pakistan performed well in the second Test, they could not avoid a defeat. Australia beat the visitors by 79 runs to clinch the three-match series with a match to go. The hosts had won the first Test by 360 runs. Chasing 317 runs for their first Test win in Australia since 1995, Pakistan were bowled out for 237 runs. Pat Cummins starred with the ball for the home side, taking 5 for 49.

For Pakistan, their captain Shan Masood and Agha Salman scored fifties. Earlier in the game, Australia scored 318 runs in the first innings before bowling out Pakistan for 264. In the second innings, Pakistan had reduced Australia to 16 for 4 before half-centuries from Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, and Alex Carey helped Australia post 262.
