Babar Azam, the skipper was looking in sublime touch against Bangladesh in their group stage match. The right-handed batter smashed 55 runs in 40 balls in the 6th match of the Tri-Series. The duo of Babar Azam & Mohammad Rizwan gave the team a brilliant start and were involved in 101 runs opening partnership.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Cricket Team is looking into all sorts of trouble. The team wasn’t able to win a single match in the tournament which raises a lot of questions about their preparations. Bangladesh’s fielding was quite sloppy where they were easily giving twos to the batting side.

Babar Azam Breaks Record of Virat Kohli

It looks like Babar Azam has made a habit of breaking Virat Kohli’s records. The 27-year-old completed his 11,000 International Runs in the 251st innings whereas Virat had done it in 261 innings. Babar has scored 3,122 runs from 75 innings of 42 Tests, 4664 runs from 90 innings of 92 ODIs and 3216 from 86 innings of 91 T20Is.

The dashing batter has also surpassed Indian Legend Sunil Gavaskar’s record too; Gavaskar had achieved the feat in 262. Pakistani Legend Javed Miandad had breached the 11,000 runs mark in 266 innings.

Babar Azam Surpasses Rohit Sharma

The right-handed batter scored their 29th T20I half-century in his 91st innings surpassing Rohit Sharma who has 28 half-centuries to his name.  Babar has become the second batter with the most number of half-centuries.

Virat Kohli, who tops the elite list, where he has smashed 33 half-centuries. Babar has improved his strike rate and most importantly he is not throwing his start.

Babar would be hoping that he continues his good form in the final of the Tri-Series against New Zealand. A Tri series victory would do wonders for the team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. There are still concerns over the middle order which needs to be addressed quickly as every-time Babar won’t win matches for the team.
