Young Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah has started his rehabilitation journey after undergoing successful shoulder surgery earlier this month. Naseem Shah has expressed his eagerness to make a comeback to the field and represent his country at the international level.

Naseem Shah sustained a shoulder injury during the Super Four stage match against India in the Asia Cup 2023. The right-arm pacer went on to miss the entire ICC ODI World Cup 2023 due to injury. He is expected to be sidelined from action for at least three to four months.

My Rehab Is Going Well – Naseem Shah

Naseem Shah posted an update about his rehabilitation on his official social media account, X (formerly known as Twitter). In the video, Naseem can be seen participating in a gym session, engaging in various cardio exercises, and performing stretching routines.

“Slowly but surely… Alhamdulillah for everything,” Naseem wrote.

“My rehab is going well, working with Dr. Imtiaz & his incredible team. I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and representing my country,” he continued.

“The road is tough, lonely & endless but with your duas (prayers) I already feel better, fitter & stronger by the day,” the pacer wrote.

The young bowler represented the Pakistan team in 14 matches in the 50-over format. He picked up 32 wickets at an impressive average of 19.67 and a strike rate of 21.72. He bagged five wickets twice in his brief career, with a best figure of 5/33.

Pakistan Miss The Services Of Naseem Shah In World Cup 2023

The 23-year-old has been a huge miss for the Pakistan team in the ICC World Cup 2023. Hasan Ali, who replaced him in the squad, has performed decently, taking eight wickets in five games. However, they failed to make an impact by taking wickets with the new ball.

The Babar Azam-led team kicked off the tournament with back-to-back victories against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. However, they have faced difficulties in the World Cup, losing four consecutive matches. They are almost out of the playoffs as they have just four points.
