PAK vs CAN: "Babar Azam is a fake king; since he has become captain, Pakistan lose to C,D teams"- Ahmed Shehzad's vicious attack

Former Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad steamed the Pakistani team with his fiery comments and also took a brutal dig at current skipper Babar Azam. 

Ahmed Shehzad's comments came during a live TV show and in light of Pakistan's humiliating loss to India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The Men in Green had the match within their reach as it was a run-a-ball target of 120 off 120 balls. Despite getting off to a very good start in their run-chase, the 2009 T20 World Cup winners succumbed in the death overs and had an unbelievable fall. 

India's right-arm seamer Jasprit Bumrah was the one who came with the game-changing moment in the final over of his spell. He claimed the wicket of a set Mohammad Rizwan who was batting at 34 and was on course to steer Pakistan towards the victory. After that, the middle-order went through a tragic collapse with the Indians registering a 5-wicket win in New York.

Following the loss, Babar Azam came into the scope of many former Pakistan cricketers from Wasim Akram to Basit Ali and Waqar Younis to Salim Malik. But none of them could match the anger and animosity of former opener Ahmed Shehzad, who openly slammed all the players as well as Babar. 

Ahmed Shehzad says Pakistan cricket has become mediocre under Babar Azam 

Ahmed Shehzad was furious with how the team played against India 2 days ago and how they have been operating for the last few years. Shehzad started by claiming that Pakistan cricket has become very mediocre since Babar Azam took over the captaincy reigns.

The former opening batter reminded Pakistan's recent losses to New Zealand's C team, then to Ireland, and the shocking Super Over loss against the USA. Ahmed Shehzad believes that it was bound to happen one day and that this was on the cards for a very long time.  

"Since Babar Azam has become the captain, sorry to use the word, but we have lost against many mediocre teams, throughout we are losing. And then before the World Cup we lost to New Zealand's C team as well then to the USA. All of these things were on the cards, they had to come to the fore one day.

Shehzad refuses to accept that Babar Azam is the King of Pakistan cricket 

Hasan Ali would not want to see this clip as Ahmed Shehzad not only called out Babr Azam but also those who call him the King of Pakistan cricket. Shehzad read out Babar's stats in major ICC competitions and highlighted that his 1400 runs in losing causes are the third highest in the world. 

With that being said, Ahmed Shehzad asked what kind of a King has these stats and how is the King benefitting the team.  

"Your stats are here from Asia Cups and World Cups. In major and big competitions, you have an average of just 27 with a 112 strike rate, and despite that Babar Azam has the third-highest runs in losing causes - 1400. So these stats are of which King tell me. What will I do with this King who will not help us win?" - Ahmed Shehzad concluded.
