Mohammad Hafeez, a former all-rounder for Pakistan, highlighted his displeasure with the way the team’s management treated rookie Abrar Ahmed during the current T20I series against England. Currently, a seven-match T20I series between Pakistan and England is taking on.

It was anticipated that uncapped Abrar will play in one or two games given the length of the series. However, many were shocked when Abrar was not included in any of the first six games by the Pakistan team management.

The 23-year-old has participated in 17 T20 matches so far, taking 19 wickets with a 7.63 economy rate. The series is now tied 3-3 after England’s eight-wicket victory in the sixth T20I. The hosts reached 169 for six in 20 overs thanks to Babar Azam’s unbroken 87 runs off 59 balls.

In the meantime, Sam Curran and David Willey each collected two-wicket hauls. England won by eight wickets in Lahore after reaching 170 for two in 14.3 overs while chasing a 170-run goal. Phil Salt scored an undefeated 88 runs off 41 balls while playing in commanding form. Shadab Khan secured two wickets for Pakistan in the meanwhile.

“Feeling sorry for Abrar Ahmed”: Mohammad Hafeez

Former captain Mohammad Hafeez expressed his disappointment with spinner Abrar Ahmed not receiving “a game so far” before Pakistan’s last T20I of the seven-match series against England on Sunday.

Despite being a member of the team for the current series, the spinner has yet to appear in any games. The 41-year-old claimed that the current series should have provided him “four games” to demonstrate his talent.

Taking to Twitter, Hafeez wrote, “Feeling sorry for Abrar Ahmed ( mystery spinner ) not to have a game so far in this series #PakvsEngland2022. He should have given four games in this series to showcase his bowling talent but….. keep working hard young man”.

The visitors stormed to an eight-wicket triumph against Pakistan in their sixth Twenty20 match in Lahore on Friday, leveling the seven-match series at 3-3.

On Sunday, October 2, Pakistan and England will play each other in the last game of the seven-match T20 series.
