PAK vs ENG: "I Think He'll End Up As Pakistan's All-time Great" - Nasser Hussain On Babar Azam

Babar Azam, the captain and batter for Pakistan, has recently faced criticism. Pakistan lost back-to-back Test series at home when he served as captain. The Men in Green were defeated 3-0 by England in a three-match series after losing 0-1 to Australia in March. This was England’s first Test trip of Pakistan since 2005.
In the just ended series, Babar, 28, finished as Men in Green’s top run scorer and has climbed to No. 2 in the ICC Test rankings. Nevertheless, he still receives criticism for the team’s failure to capitalise on home advantage and win games.

He should be removed from the position of leadership, according to several past greats and admirers. A former England captain, however, has come out strongly in favour of the outstanding right-handed hitter, predicting that he will end his career as one of Pakistan’s all-time greats.
Nasser Hussain Hails Babar Azam
By the time the cricketer from Lahore ends his playing career, he will be Pakistan’s all-time greatest, according to former England captain Nasser Hussain. He stated the justification for his forecast and added:

“I think he’ll end up as Pakistan’s all-time great. Not just the runs he gets, but the way he gets his runs. In an era where some of batting, not all of batting, is about hitting the ball hard, hitting the ball a long way, I look at (Joe) Root and Babar (Azam) as multi-format players. I look at Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Marcus Labuschagne, and I still look at people who could stroke a cricket ball.
“When they play a shot, you sit there and go WOW, whether it be a Babar cover drive, or Root slog sweep, or even a Labuschagne forward defence. Call me boring but I’m an old school of stroking a cricket ball,” Hussain said during an interaction with Cricwick.
I Love Watching Babar Azam Play: Nasser Hussain
The Pakistani skipper, in his opinion, has performed admirably under intense pressure from all directions.
“So, I love watching Babar play, and he’s under immense pressure. He’s carrying a batting line-up, in the World T20 I think it was the first I’ve ever since Babar looked out of nick.
I think he’ll end up in all-time great, I wish people will cut him a little bit of slack because he’ll go through periods when he doesn’t get runs, and in this part of the world (subcontinent) you get absolutely vilified. But you won’t realise how good Babar Azam is until he’s gone because he is that much of a special talent,” he added.
