Pakistan take on England in the sixth T20I in Lahore on September 30. The series is poised at 3-2 after the hosts won the last two games. Pakistan won the fourth T20I by 3 runs and the fifth by six runs as their bowlers stood up in both the matches.
It was the debutant Aamer Jamal who stood up for them in the last match as he defended 15 runs in the final over of the match. He nailed his wide yorkers perfectly and did not allow England bowlers to get under the ball and hit him for runs.
“The confidence of Aamer Jamal was high and he was confident he could do it in that last over. To win T20Is, you need wickets and in the middle overs, Shadab produced that. These things build up the team and gives us confidence” skipper Babar Azam hailed the debutant.
In this article, we predict Pakistan’s playing XI for the sixth T20I against England. Ideally, they should play the same XI that won them the last two games.
PAK vs ENG: Pakistan’s Playing XI Against England: England Tour Of Pakistan 2022, 6th T20I
Babar Azam (C)
Babar is the second-highest run-scoter of the series with 194 runs to his name. However, he scored just 9 in the previous match. He is 52 away from completing 3000 runs in the format.
Mohammad Rizwan (WK)
Rizwan has been the “Mr Consistent” for Pakistan in the series scoring 315 runs in five matches and averaging 78.75. He might well score over 450 runs in this series.
Shan Masood
Masood is a part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad. However, he has not shown good form in this series. He scored 101 from five matches.
Haider Ali
Haider Ali can slot in next. He has not scored too many in the series so far and can utilise the last two matches as an opportunity.
Mohammad Nawaz
The left-arm spinning all-rounder can slot in at number five. He can be used as a floater depending on the match situation.
Iftikhar Ahmed
Iftikhar can slot in at number six. He can bat at any number between four to six. In the last game, where all the other Pakistani batsmen failed, he was the third-highest scorer.
Asif Ali
Aif scored just 5 in the low-scoring thriller in the fifth T20I. He needs to get his form back ahead of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign.
Shadab Khan
Shadab scored just seven with the bat and picked up 1 for 25 with the ball. He is the vice-captain of the side.
Aamer Jamal
The debutant Aamer Jamal scored 10 off 7 balls with the bat before bowling the matchwinning 20th over.
Mohammad Wasim Jr
He will be the second seamer in this playing XI. Wasim went for 31 runs in his spell and picked up one wicket.
Mohammad Hasnain
There are reports that Mohammad Hasnain can replace Haris Raufd in the XI as the senior pacer might be rested for the next game. He has played all five games and might be given a break.
