England’s historic Test tour of Pakistan is just over two weeks away as the two sides gear up for the three-match series. The Men in Green had moved quickly to put the disappointment of losing the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final behind them as England has emerged victorious by five wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground earlier this month.

Babar Azam’s men will be aiming to take their revenge in the longest format of the game to keep their hopes of making it to the final of the World Test Championship alive. Pakistan will host five Tests against England and New Zealand in December and January.

Pakistan are currently fifth in the World Test Championship standings with 51.85%, although they could break into the top two. The Babar Azam-led side can make it to the WTC final at the Oval next year with back-to-back wins.

I’m Trying To Maintain My Form By Playing Domestic Cricket – Imam-ul-Haq

Imam-ul-Haq is now representing Balochistan in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, while many of his teammates played in the recent T20 World Cup in Australia. The 26-year-old left-hander has 229 runs from six innings at an average of 38, and he hopes to continue his good form against England and New Zealand.

“I’m trying to maintain my form by playing domestic cricket. Test cricket usually happens after a long gap which is why we have to prepare for it from scratch every time,” he said.

“I like playing Test matches on home soil as compared to ODIs and T20Is. I’m happy to see that England and New Zealand are sending their full-strength teams to Pakistan. Top teams visiting Pakistan is good for our cricket,” he added.
