PAK vs ENG: "With His Current Form, He Can Only Win Us 5 Out Of 100 Games": Yasir Hameed On ‘X-factor’ Asif Ali’s Consistency

Yasir Hameed, a former Pakistan opener, criticized Asif Ali, who has recently performed poorly. He was dubbed the “X-factor,” but he did not contribute in the last T20I match against England.
Dawid Malan’s brilliant fifty and Chris Woakes’ three wickets helped England defeat Pakistan by 67 runs in the seventh Twenty20 match on Sunday in Lahore, clinching the series 4-3 and giving them a huge lift before the World Cup.
Asif Ali of Pakistan only managed seven runs off nine balls when he came in to bat at number six in the last T20I match against England, which resulted in a loss for the home team. At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the victory also aided the visitors in winning the series 4-3. Despite Shan Masood’s half-century, the hosts could only reach 142 for 8 in 20 overs while chasing a target of 210.
Chris Woakes was in excellent bowling form at the same time, taking three wickets and helping England defeat Pakistan by 67 runs. For England, David Willey recorded two dismissals. At first, England reached 209 for three in 20 overs thanks to unbeaten innings of 78 runs off 47 balls by Dawid Malan and 46 runs off 29 balls by Harry Brook.
Asif Ali hasn’t delivered consistently for Pakistan: Yasir Hameed
Chris Woakes dismissed Asif Ali in the 15th over, and veteran cricketer Yasir Hameed thinks he needs to play with greater consistency going forward. Yasir Hameed referred to him as Pakistan’s “X-factor” and added that in his current shape, he could only win five out of every 100 games.
Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Yasir Hameed said, “You can’t predict a winner in the T20 format. You just have to see how many match-winners you have and how many X-factors do you have in your team.”
“England played Salt consistently because he is an X-factor for them. He delivered for them in the last game. For us, we have Asif Ali in that role, but he hasn’t delivered consistently for Pakistan. With his current form, he can win us only five matches out of a 100, which is a low percentage. Asif needs to start delivering consistently for Pakistan,” Yasir Hameed added.
England came up with a perfect all-round performance to defeat Pakistan by 67 runs in the seventh T20I. With this, the visitors won the series 4-3.
