Difficult For Pakistan To Reach Final: Mohammad Yousuf
While speaking on the Nadir Ali podcast, former Pakistan batter Mohammad Yousuf was asked about expectations from the Pakistan team in the ICC World Cup 2023. To this, the former Pakistan coach said it is difficult for Pakistan to reach the final.
“It is difficult for Pakistan to reach final of ICC World Cup 2023. However, four teams that can play in semi-finals are Pakistan, India, Australia, and England. New Zealand and South Africa are two teams that can upset anyone or can come up with very good show”, the 49-year-old said.

Mohammad Yousuf also highlighted that conditions in India are similar to that of Pakistan. He also wishes for the India vs Pakistan final in the ICC World Cup 2023.
“Indian conditions are just like Pakistan and there are similar wickets. Weather is also similar. It is hard to guess the finalists but I wish for India vs Pakistan clash. There can be no match bigger than that. Both teams faced each other in 2017 Champions final which was a big final”, Mohammad Yousuf further added.
Pakistan failed to win both of their warm-up matches. Against New Zealand, they piled up a mammoth total of 345 but could not defend their target. Against Australia, Pakistan failed to chase down a 352-run target and lost by 14 runs.
Meanwhile, the Babar Azam-led side will face Netherlands in their opening match of ICC World Cup 2023. The encounter is scheduled to be played on October 6. India will begin their journey on October 8 against Australia.
