Fans on X reacted after the Pakistan Cricket Team crushed Nepal by a massive margin of 238 runs at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. The Babar Azam-led side kickstarted the Asia Cup 2023 on a high note and will be extremely confident going into the game against India, slated to take place on Saturday (2nd September) in Kandy.

Pakistan were extremely exceptional with both bat and ball in the tournament opener against Nepal. Batting first, they didn’t have a good start as they lost four early wickets. But it was all about skipper Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed, who took the game away from the opposition. 

Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed slammed magnificent centuries and stitched a 214 partnership. While the skipper scored 151 runs, the latter scored an unbeaten 109 runs. Their magnificent effort helped Pakistan post a total of 342 runs on the board, which at one moment didn’t seem possible. 

With the ball, their pace attack was just too much to handle for the Nepal batters as they lost wickets in clusters and were bundled out for just 104 runs. Aarif Sheikh (28) and Sompal Kami (28) were the two batters who looked settled but their efforts weren’t enough. 

All the bowlers for Pakistan chipped in, with Shadab Khan being the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 4/27. They won the game by a massive margin of 238 runs and made sure they started the tournament on high.
