Former England captain Michael Vaughan, on Saturday (November 4), invited ex-Pakistan allrounder Mohammad Hafeez on a podcast to sort things out after the latter’s recent remarks about him and England cricket.

It all began after Michael Vaughan decided to have some fun at the expense of the Pakistan cricket team. Talking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, the England great took a hilarious dig at Pakistan cricket’s tendency to get involved in controversies during World Cups. Even in the ongoing World Cup, Pakistan’s campaign has been marred due to several controversies.

There were talks of unrest in the Pakistan dressing room and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to release a statement to deny them. And recently, former wicketkeeper Rashid Latif claimed that the PCB officials including chairman Zaka Ashraf were not responding to messages and calls from captain Babar Azam. A few reports have also stated that Babar Azam is likely to be sacked as captain after the World Cup.

Mohammad Hafeez hits back at Michael Vaughan:

Michael Vaughan never shies away from speaking his mind on social media. While he keeps facing the heat from the fans, he makes sure to share his views on almost everything related to the game. And he spoke about Pakistan and their recent controversies as well. After slamming their coach Mickey Arthur for his ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ remark following the loss to India, he sarcastically criticized their penchant for controversies.

“You think of the history of Pakistan, the World Cup doesn’t start until there’s controversy with Pakistan. Until there’s a fallout… I don’t understand, why don’t they sack everyone a day before the tournament starts. Everybody resigns, they win the World Cup! What are you waiting for?” Michael Vaughan said on the podcast.

Unsurprisingly, his comments did not go down well with many including former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez. He hit back at Michael Vaughan by sharing a photo of a news piece showing England pacer David Willey expressing his disappointment over not being handed a central contract by the ECB.

“Better stop peeping into other’s problem and sort out ur disputes first. We have sizeable insight about our issues and will surely resolve them. @MichaelVaughan,” wrote Mohammad Hafeez.

And Vaughan was quick to respond to it as he wrote: “Come on @clubprairiefire podcast and let’s have a discussion Mo .. Me & @gilly381 would love to have you on ???”
