During an interview on a local TV channel, the 60-year-old claimed that captain Babar Azam wants to give opportunities to players who deserve to be in the national team, but the board’s interference is sowing the seeds of tension among players.
“PCB administration is trying to sow the seed of discord among the players… Babar Azam believes that every player should have the opportunity to be a part of the team and those who perform well should be given a chance,” he said.

Once the complaints and accusations started, Ramiz Raja let the trolley roll down the hill. After accusing PCB of creating a rift among players, he accused the PCB chairman of being the reason behind his not being in the commentary box.
Ramiz Raja shares his opinion regarding the talks of a neutral venue being used for the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup
Ramiz Raja claimed that a neutral venue for the India-Pakistan matches in the Asia Cup later this year is not a good idea.
Since BCCI has refused to send the India National Cricket Team to Pakistan for the upcoming Asia Cup in September, talks of using a neutral venue for India’s matches emerged.
While no concrete decision has been made in the matter, and PCB has no official stance on it as of yet, board chairman Najam Sethi has threatened to boycott the ODI World Cup if India refuses to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
Ramiz Raja seems to agree with this sentiment, saying –
“Opting for a neutral venue, would not be beneficial for Pakistan.”

It remains to be seen whether we will see Ramiz Raja back on our TV screens as a commentator for the first time since 2021.
