PAK vs NZ: Shahid Afridi-Led Selection Committee Adds Three Bowlers To Pakistan's Side For The New Zealand Series

Shahid Afridi, who was named interim chief selector by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday, added three bowlers Shahid Afridi to the national team for the two-match home Test series against New Zealand, which begins on Monday.
As per the PCB, Afridi included fast bowler Mir Hamza and Shahnawaz Dahani, as well as off-spinner Sajid Khan, to the squad after discussing with captain Babar Azam.

Shahnawaz Dahani, Mir Hamza, and offspinner Sajid Khan have all been added to Pakistan’s team for the two-match Test series against New Zealand, strengthening their bowling resources.
Sajid has participated in seven Test matches so far. Most recently, he was a member of the Pakistani team for the March three-match series against Australia. Dahani has never received a cap, while Hamza has only appeared in one Test, a match against Australia back in 2018.

“I am confident in the addition of three new bowling resources”: Shahid Afridi
Shahid Afridi said the selectors had a good discussion on the squad and agreed there was a need to strengthen the bowling department to give the team the best chance of taking 20 wickets in a match virtually.
“As such, and taking into consideration recent form and performances, we have added fast bowlers Mir Hamza and Shahnawaz Dahani, and off-spinner Sajid Khan, “ Shahid Afridi said.
“I am confident the inclusion of three additional bowling resources will give Babar Azam more options to field the best available squad for the first Test,” Shahid Afridi Added.
Earlier in the day, Afridi was named interim chief selector of Pakistan’s men’s national team. Former players Abdul Razzaq, Rao Ifthikar Ahmed, and Haroon Rasheed served on the interim selection committee.
Both Afridi and Haroon are members of the PCB’s cricket management committee, which is led by Najam Sethi and is in charge of the game in Pakistan for the next four months.
