Former West Indies pacer Curtly Ambrose feels that Pakistan and West Indies teams are very similar to each other. They could look like the best in the world on some days or totally clueless on another day. His comments came ahead of the Pakistan tour of West Indies 2021, which is set to start today (July 28).

The Pakistan tour of the West Indies consists of 4 T20I games. The series was reduced to four matches instead of five after the recently concluded West Indies vs Australia ODI series was delayed due to Covid-19 issues. Other than 4 T20I games, Pakistan will also face the home side West Indies in 2 Test matches, slated to start on August 12 and August 20 respectively.

Pakistan And West Indies Are Similar, Feels Curtly Ambrose

During the Curtly Karishma show, former West Indies cricketer Curtly Ambrose mentioned that Sri Lanka vs West Indies tour will be interesting as both the teams are similar to each other.

“Pakistan and West Indies are similar. They could blow real hot and look like the best in the world or they could be very cold and look like they don’t know what’s going on. There is hardly any middle ground. That is going to make the West Indies-Pakistan series very interesting. Who will blow hot for longer?”, Ambrose said.

Speaking about Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, the West Indies legend said that he is looking forward to seeing him play live. He also pointed out that the Pakistan team cannot be taken for granted and West Indies need to play well to beat them.

“Babar Azam is a wonderful cricketer. I am looking forward to seeing him. I haven’t seen him live. Pakistan are a team that cannot be taken for granted. For the T20s, I am going to give West Indies the edge but they still have to play well to beat Pakistan. West Indies haven’t been playing all that well in Test cricket so let’s see how that goes,” Curtly Ambrose further said.
