Pakistan Cricket Board Appoints Faisal Hasnain As The New Chief Executive

Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed United Kingdom-qualified Faisal Hasnain as their new chief executive. Hasnain has replaced UK-based former CEO Wasim Khan, who resigned from the post after New Zealand and England decided to abandon their tour of Pakistan in September, this year.

Hasnain has worked as the chartered accountant for the England and Wales Cricket Board and also served the International Cricket Council as the Chief Financial Officer in two different stints (2002-2008) and (2010-2017). He was born on 10 May 1959 in Karachi, Pakistan.

As the ICC’s CFO, the Karachi-born managed an overall financial portfolio of the organization and was also involved in the sale of the commercial rights for the 2007-2015 and the 2016-2023 commercial cycles. He also worked with Zimbabwe Cricket and was instrumental in the refinancing of their commercial debts. Secured the financial arrangements between ZC and the ICC and ZCs status within the ICC and securing hosting rights for the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 – Zimbabwe’s first global event after 2003.

After his appointment, Faisal has said that he is honoured and privileged to serve the one-time opportunity to serve Pakistan cricket and thanked Ramiz Raja for having confidence in his abilities.
