Pakistan Cricket Board Reveals New Men’s Selection Committee

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would be quite happy after defeating New Zealand in ODI Series. The team under the leadership of Babar Azam did a commendable job by winning ODI Series by 4-1 and also attained the no.1 ODI rankings for the first time in the history of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)

Pakistan Cricket Board are going through a revamp ever since the removal of the then-chairman Ramiz Raja. The Men in Green had a pretty good ICC T20 WC 2021 & 2022 when they reached the knockout stages and were a force to reckon with.

Pakistan Cricket Board have appointed a new selection committee which includes 3 new faces apart from the chairman of selectors Haroon Rashid. Mickey Arthur will also be a part of the selection committee along with being the team’s director. The recently appointed head coach Grant Bradburn will also accompany Mickey Arthur.

The major inclusion in the selection committee is Hassan Cheema who already holds multiple positions of selection committee secretary, manager analytics, and team strategy for men’s team. PCB’s decision to include the management staff in the selection committee could prove to be decisive.

Steep Road ahead for Selection Committee

We all know that there are multiple ICC tournaments aligned up in the next couple of years. The main task of the selection committee is to name a bunch of players for the fast & spin bowling camps which are slated to take place in Lahore in the next month.

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi has made it clear that Babar Azam would lead the side for ODI WC 2023. It would be interesting to see whether the likes of Mohammad Amir & Hasan Ali get another chance into the setup ahead of the marquee tournament.
