Sidra Amin struck her bat forcefully on the pitch following her dismissal in the 40th over. On-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Nimali Perera, along with third umpire Kerrin Klaaste and fourth umpire Kim Cotton, leveled charges.

Such breaches carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a fine of up to 50 percent of the match fee, along with one or two demerit points.

Sidra admitted her offence and accepted the sanction recommended by match referee Shandré Fritz from the Emirates ICC International Panel, which meant no formal hearing was required.

Pakistan Bowled Out for 159 While Chasing 248-Run Target

The Women in Green struggled to chase India’s 248-run total in the Women’s World Cup, being bowled out for 159 and falling short by 88 runs. Sidra Amin was the standout for Pakistan, top-scoring with 81 off 106 balls before being caught by captain Harmanpreet Kaur off Sneh Rana’s bowling.

Kranti Goud and Deepti Sharma led India’s bowling attack, claiming three wickets each. After consecutive wins over Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Jemimah Rodrigues highlighted the team’s positive spirit. Pakistan, having already lost to Bangladesh, will face Australia next on October 8.

“We try to take it one day at a time and stay in the present. Even in our group conversations, we focus on building our own bubble because we know how much noise surrounds a World Cup. Whether we do well or face challenges, we want to keep all that outside and create our own energy,” Rodrigues said after the match.
