The Pakistan team won the Hong Kong Sixes title for the sixth time in the history of the competition by defeating Kuwait in the Final of the 2025 edition on the 9th of November at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Sixes is a special form of tournament featuring some electrifying action between 12 teams. This time in 2025, the matches were played between November 7th and 9th.

The tournament included 12 main teams, which included South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal, Australia, England, UAE, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong (China).

Pakistan win record 6th Hong Kong Sixes title

Pakistan, alongside Kuwait, entered the finals of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament. Kuwait had a stunning run as they defeated the likes of India and England to make it all the way through to the finals. They finished runners-up, losing the match by 43 runs.

Kuwait's skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first against Pakistan. Abdul Samad scored a quickfire 42 off just 13 balls, and skipper Abbas Afridi pushed the momentum further with an 11-ball 52. Pakistan reached 135/3 in their 6 overs.

Kuwait batters, who pulled out a remarkable show previously against India and England, could not produce something equally sensational this time. Adnan Idrees scored 30 off just 8 balls, Bhasvar played till the last over and amassed 33 runs off 12 balls, and lastly, Yasin Patel, the skipper, tried as well but fell short after being dismissed for 14 runs.

Sri Lanka secure Bowl Final while Hong Kong shines in Plate Final

After Sri Lanka, India, the UAE, and Nepal finished last in the points table from their respective pools, they were thrown out of the main stage and played the bowl league, where India lost all their games and Sri Lanka emerged as the winners.

On the other hand, the top two teams in Pool A and Pool D, South Africa, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh, all went on to play in the plate semi-finals. Hong Kong and Bangladesh qualified for the finals, and Hong Kong won it.

Winners awarded $20000 as the winner's prize money

Out of the several big teams that played in the Hong Kong Sixes, Pakistan secured the title and is the most successful team in the history of the tournament. They have been handed a big $20000 award for being the winners.

Kuwait, on the other hand, were the runners-up after losing the game to Pakistan by 43 runs and received $15000. Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi was awarded the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Tournament.

However, as per stats, Sundeep Jora from Nepal remained the highest scorer with the bat with 176 runs, and was followed by Karim Janat's 172 for Afghanistan. Aizaz Khan had scored 151 runs. Rashid Khan of Nepal picked 9 wickets, Abu Hider Rony had 7, and Lahiru Samarakoon had 5 wickets.
