Pakistan Fans Slam PCB For Their 'Shameful' Gesture Towards Ex-Captain Imran Khan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is facing backlash from Pakistani fans for not showing some of the biggest cricketers in the country in a video they posted recently on their social media handles.
On the occasion of Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day, the PCB took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to post a video to showcase the contribution of cricket in the country. The celebratory video featured a number of Pakistani legends who played a big role in making Pakistan one of the powerhouses of the game.
The likes of Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar Younis, Shahid Afridi, Babar Azam, and a few other greats of the game featured in the video. The clip also showed snippets of memorable wins in Pakistan’s cricket history such as the 1992 World Cup, the T20 World Cup 2009, and the Champions Trophy 2017. The PCB posted the video with the caption: “Making history isn’t just about one day; it’s about the legends we create and the tales we script. Pakistan Cricket Team – a legacy that echoes through time.”

Pakistan fans slam PCB:
While the PCB posted the video to celebrate the legacy of Pakistani cricket, it won’t be wrong to say that it has backfired. The Pakistani fans were not at all impressed with the clip as they questioned the absence of some of the biggest faces of Pakistan cricket from the two-minute, 21 seconds video.
The biggest name that did not feature in the video is former Pakistan captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan. The former Pakistan allrounder was the captain when he led the country to a historic World Cup title in 1992 against all the odds. Pakistan have not won the tournament since then.
Imran Khan is also considered one of the most if not the most popular cricketer in Pakistan. The likes of Mohammad Yousuf and Saeed Anwar did not feature in the clip either. The fans slammed the PCB for their failure to keep politics away from cricket.
Here are some of the reactions:
He is 'undoubtedly' the greatest cricketer from Pakistan and is in the top 5 list of all time greats. Imran Khan is the one true representation of Pakistan cricket's identity and when I say this I genuinely mean it.
The audacity of this 2 takay ka board. https://t.co/5BRqFJGN6y

Pettiness is having an entire segment on the 1992 WC win without showing a single picture of the man who led the team to glory.
Shameful by @TheRealPCB! https://t.co/keTBzXv1Jd

Sheikh Hasina Wajid makes it to the video but not Imran Khan. https://t.co/w05xfMaKDv

Also, a lot of other historic moments are missing too, no mention of MisYou era, Pak becoming number one team, Misbah getting test mace? Mentions ACC emerging cup but no mention of two U19 World Cups. https://t.co/nZEFbjB94Z

PCB didn't mention misbah winning the test mace either which is probably our second greatest achievement in cricket after 1992 wc but yeah Afridi two fluke sixes holds more value, no shame whatsoever. https://t.co/8UYqTfHsUI

Imran Khan doesn’t exist according to PCB. https://t.co/OfOr8P7LHo

No matter how much you wish he didn’t, you can’t erase the fact that Imran Khan won Pakistan their one and only 50 over World Cup. https://t.co/KA5N0l2RlN pic.twitter.com/KB6hVbeRTn

Me: Lol, no way you can make a video celebrating Pak cricket without the greatest Pak cricketer ever.
Siri: Yeah no way.
PCB: Hold my Pakola. https://t.co/vo8L3iYn9i

Reminiscing in Pakistan crickets history, 11 images of the 1992 World Cup win and not one pic or mention of the greatest that ever played the game for the country!
Imran Khan will go down in history as one of the greats of the global game!#PakistanCricket https://t.co/wKsvBgNZ3u
