Ahead of the busy schedule for the Pakistan Cricket Team, Hasan Ali and his team are all set to face major setbacks due to his elbow issue that has been hampering the ace pacer’s performance both at domestic circuits and international cricket over the past couple of years.
Hasan is now facing a career crisis as a relentless elbow injury is threatening to ruin the Pakistan pacer’s cricketing future. The fast bowler's chronic elbow issue has reached a critical stage, casting serious doubts over his availability for the upcoming key matches for the Pakistan team.
Hasan Ali faces a career crisis as elbow injury worsens
Pakistan's medium pacer is reportedly yet to recover from his elbow pain, and his availability for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home is unlikely. It is being said that Hasan would now require full treatment for his elbow injury, which would make him unavailable for Pakistan’s upcoming fixtures at home.
According to a report by Cricket Pakistan, the elbow injury has been a major stumbling block for Ali, preventing him from completing games during his Count Cricket stint with Warwickshire County Cricket Club in England. Despite his relentless efforts, the pain has severely impacted his performance, as he has been struggling to deliver his best with the ball.
With the situation growing increasingly terrible, Hasan is set to undergo intensive treatment to address the persistent elbow injury. It has thrown his participation in the much-anticipated two-match Test series against Bangladesh next month into serious doubt.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's 2024-25 home season will be a busy one. The international action kicks off with Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan for the two-match Test series. The first Pakistan versus Bangladesh Test is set to be played in Rawalpindi from August 21-25, followed by the second and last Test match in Karachi from August 30-September 3.
Pakistan Cricket Team has a busy home season ahead
England will then visit Pakistan for a three-Test series, with matches scheduled in Multan (October 7-11), Karachi (October 15-19), and Rawalpindi (October 24-28). Then, the West Indies cricket team will come to Pakistan to play two Tests in Karachi (January 16-20) and Multan (January 24-28).
In addition to these crucial Test matches against Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies, Multan will host an ODI tri-series involving New Zealand and South Africa from February 8–14 ahead of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.
Apart from these home fixtures, the Pakistani team will embark on tours of Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa from November 4 to January 7. During these tours, Pakistan will play two Tests, nine ODIs, and nine T20Is.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not announced the Test squad for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh, and the latest news about Hasan is not a great sign for the hosts, given the blockbuster home season ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
