Pakistani captain and management would like the batters to put on a much-improved performance against an in-form bowling lineup of the defending Asia Cup champions, India.

The onus would be on the top five batters to score the bulk of the runs for the team, which hasn't been the case in the last couple of matches.

Pakistan is expected to go with an unchanged playing XI for this particular game and would rely on the opening pair of Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan to get the team off to a solid start in the first six overs.

Individually, both Saim and Sahibzada Farhan would wish to get going, especially Saim, who is yet to open his account after playing three matches in the tournament, and would like to get off the mark.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris (wk), Salman Ali Agha (c), Hasan Nawaz, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nawaz

The same story has been repeated when it comes to the middle order, with the likes of captain Salman Ali Agha and Hasan Nawaz struggling to score runs.

One of the few positives for Pakistan in the middle order has been Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Haris, both of whom have shown some sort of form in the tournament so far.

The duo would like to keep up the good work and would expect other batters to make a more significant contribution.

Other than the above-mentioned batters, former captain Shaheen Afridi has been one of the standout batters for the team while coming in at number nine.

Shaheen would hope for specialist batters to lay the platform for him to capitalize on in the last couple of overs.

Bowlers: Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf

As far as the bowling is concerned, it hasn't had much to do as the batters have failed to post a decent score on the board.

Having said that, credit must be given for the way the bowlers defended a below-par total in what was a do-or-die game for the Men in Green against the UAE.

The bowlers would want the batters to post a challenging total on the board against an Indian batting lineup that bats till number eight.

Shaheen Afridi will have to once again provide breakthroughs in the first six overs with the new ball, and for Haris Rauf to support him from the other end.

The spin bowling arsenal comprises Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz, who will be entrusted with the job of picking wickets in the middle overs, with Saim Ayub acting as the fifth bowling option.
