Pakistan Should Be No.1 In The ICC Rankings – Abdul Razzaq

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Abdul Razzaq has said that the Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team should be at the top of the International Cricket Council (ICC) team rankings because of the way they have been performing in recent times.

Pakistan National Cricket Team are currently at the 6th position in the ICC Test Rankings, 4th position in the ICC ODI Rankings, and 3rd position in the ICC T20I Rankings.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan cricketer Razzaq feels that there is unity in the Pakistan team and they have been performing well in all three departments. The 42-year-old is also hoping to see Pakistan win the upcoming ICC tournaments.

“To be frank, I’m not just saying this because I’m from Pakistan, but we should be no.1 in the rankings. The way we are performing in all the three departments; batting, bowling, and fielding, we can see a unity in this side,” Razzaq said in a brief chat with Sports Paktv.

“I have full hopes that in the upcoming ICC tournaments, Pakistan team will perform and finish at the top,” Razzaq further said.

The 42-year-old further said that Pakistan captain Babar Azam has been performing brilliantly for his team for the past 4-5 years. He is also hopeful of Babar reaching at the top of the ICC Men’s Player Rankings for batters across all three formats.

“It’s his time to deliver. He has been performing for the past 4-5 years. I hope that he will be able to continue with the same momentum and become no.1 across all formats,” Razzaq said.

“If he continues like this, it’s good for Pakistan team and Pakistan cricket.”

Notably, Babar is currently the No.1 batter in One Day International (ODI) and T20I ( T20 International) rankings. Also, in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings he is at the 4th spot.
