Pakistan cricket has yet again made the headlines, but this time, national cricketers, including Usama Mir, found themselves in a big off-field storm. The Usama Mir matter is about a money dispute, which has now turned into a serious controversy.
The Pakistan leg-spinner has opened up about an alleged fraud case and made it clear that he will not stay silent anymore and vows to get back every penny of his hard work through a legal battle.
Huge investment turns into a big shock for Usama Mir
As reported by Geo News, Usama Mir revealed that he invested 800,000 dirhams in a deal after being promised profit in return, though he has not revealed the name of the firm. But things turned ugly, as the spinner neither got the promised return nor got his original money back.
Usama also shared that he has all the documents and even message exchanges linked to the deal, and that’s why he now wants the matter to go through legal action. He has named Abdul Rehman in the case and said that he will knock on every door for justice, as he has all the documents to support the case, and he wants the truth to come out properly.
I will knock on every door for legal action: Usama Mir
Usama Mir was quoted as saying by Geo News: “I will knock on every door for legal action. This person has committed fraud and deceit; I will go to every level for legal action. The relevant institutions should also cooperate.”
The leg-spinner also revealed that plot papers were given to him as a guarantee, but later that too allegedly turned out to be part of the fraud. He said that that man kept making promises in the beginning, but later he stopped picking up his calls.

Sources revealed that several Pakistani players were allegedly lured into the same setup with promises of partnership and profit, and the total amount involved could be in millions of rupees. Still, most of them have not spoken publicly, mainly because they fear losing even more money.
Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman's injury issue sparks major controversy
Meanwhile, a fresh controversy erupted with serious questions now being raised over the fitness clearance of Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman during the T20 World Cup 2026 selection process. The issue reportedly came to light after post-tournament medical checks by the PCB's medical panel.
The controversy had already started building when chief selector Aaqib Javed, while announcing the ODI squad for the Bangladesh series, hinted that the PCB would examine how both players were cleared earlier for the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
Soon after, Babar and Fakhar were left out of the ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour. Matters got worse when both players were still found to be carrying injury concerns even after the World Cup. Babar later pulled out of the National T20 Championship because of a hamstring problem, while Fakhar was also dealing with a similar fitness issue.
A PCB source said: “When Babar was examined, his injury turned out to be more serious than initially diagnosed, while Fakhar has been struggling with the same problem for months now.”
