"Pakistan's cricket team is..." - US official Matthew Miller's huge take on USA beating Babar Azam & Co. in T20 WC

A spokesperson of the USA State Department named Matthew Miller took a dig at Pakistan Cricket by refusing to comment on their T20 WC performance.
The Babar Azam-led Pakistani side are currently awaiting to play their final Group A game against Ireland at the Central Broward Regional Park in Florida. That is the only chance left for the Men in Green to try and qualify for the Super 8s, which is the following round of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after the Group stages.
In the group stages until now, Pakistan have lost twice against first-timers USA and arch-rivals India with their only win coming against Canada a few days ago. The scenario for Babar Azam's side to proceed to the next round of the World Cup has become difficult for reasons that fall outside of cricket.
The weather forecast in Florida, the venue for Pakistan's 4th Group game, is experiencing heavy and extreme rainfall. There are flood-like conditions nearby Lauderhill and all of the remaining matches in the USA are having the scare of being washed out. The Indian team will not mind, nor will the co-hosts. The team which will be impacted the most is the Pakistani side.
USA State Department spokesperson gets asked about Pakistan cricket
During a recent press briefing, USA's State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller was asked to shed light on Pakistan losing to the USA in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and West Indies.
The Green Army's loss to the United States of America was perhaps the biggest upset that took place in the T20 World Cup. This was exactly the thing that was raised by one of the reporters in the briefing. He also gave the reason behind asking a sports-related question in a diplomatic meeting. And that was to lighten the atmosphere of the meeting room.
"There is a Cricket World Cup that is being played in America for the first time and the Pakistani team lost to the US. It's just like the US Basketball team losing to Pakistan. Any correlation do you see between the two? The Pakistani team got trained by the military, the Chairman is a former CNN employee, anything you'd like to say?" - the reporter asked Matthew Miller.
What did Matthew Miller say?
Matthew Miller, after coming across the question, refrained from making a statement on Pakistan's performance as it falls out of his area of expertise. Miller also admitted that he often lands into trouble when trying to comment on something he has no idea about.
"I often get in trouble when I try to comment on things beyond my area of expertise, and I would say Pakistan's cricket team is certainly in that category," Miller said.
