Australia pacer Scott Boland is eyeing the opportunity to pile more pressure on KL Rahul ahead of the five-match Test series between India and Australia.
Before the highly-anticipated series gets underway later this month, Scott Boland and KL Rahul will be facing each other when they ply their trade for their respective teams in the second unofficial Test between India A and Australia A. KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel were added to the India A squad for the second game of the two-match series.
On the other hand, Scott Boland was a part of the Australia A squad for the first game as well but did not play. Rahul has been under pressure for quite some time now and will be looking to put up a good performance in the upcoming game to strengthen his case for a place in the India playing eleven for the first Test.
The right-handed batsman played the first Test against New Zealand last month. He was dropped from the team after registering scores of 0 and 12. For the second and third Tests, he was replaced by Shubman Gill. Rahul could get the nod to play the first Test against Australia if captain Rohit Sharma misses out due to personal reasons.

Scott Boland eyes battle with KL Rahul:
A good outing against Australia A will definitely put KL Rahul in contention for a place in the Indian team. And while Rahul would be looking to make the most of the opportunity, Scott Boland has made it clear that he has his eyes set on the India star.
While calling Rahul a world-class batsman, Boland stated that the India batsman is someone 'we can get on top of pretty early'.
"I was lucky to bowl to him in a Test over in India a couple of years ago but it'll be nice to play against him in our backyard. He's a world-class player but someone I think we can get on top of pretty early and hopefully stay on top of him for the majority of the summer," said Boland.
Boland also spoke about India's recent 3-0 loss against New Zealand. The Australia pacer stated that even though India lost the series, the conditions will be very different in Australia.
"There's so much more bounce here, more seam," Boland said. "The way they'll structure their team will be completely different to what you see over in India."
Boland will also be hoping to do well with the ball in the upcoming game. The right-arm pacer averages a stunning 12.21 in Tests at home but has struggled to play games regularly because of Australia's well-settled pace attack. A good show against India A will further boost his chances of playing in the upcoming series at some stage.
