Ireland opener Paul Stirling joined the Indian duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, and New Zealand opener, Martin Guptill, as the only players to have crossed the 3000-run mark in the shortest format of the game.
Stirling achieved the feat during Ireland’s fifth and final T20I against Afghanistan. Ireland managed to win the game and secure a 3-2 series win.
The victory comes after close performances against India, New Zealand, and South Africa. The cherry on top was Stirling’s feat, which he achieved by scoring a 10-ball 16.
Guptill leads the list with 3497 runs in 121 matches followed by Rohit with 3487 runs in 132 matches. Kohli is third on the list with 3308 runs in 99 games and Stirling has 3011 runs in 114 matches.
