Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner Noor Ahmad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli shared a special moment after the match between the two teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Virat Kohli gifted his signed jersey to Noor Ahmad as a gesture of sportsmanship.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a four-wicket win over the Gujarat Titans at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Saturday, May 4. Virat Kohli scored 42 runs off 27 balls, including two fours and four sixes. Noor Ahmad took two wickets for 23 runs in his four overs.

Noor Ahmad managed to secure the wicket of Virat Kohli during the 11th over of RCB's innings. The star batter edged outside off stump googly to wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, who took a good catch. The crowd, including Anushka Sharma, Kohli's wife, were shell-shocked after the dismissal.

Deal Noor Ahmad, Well Bowled - Virat Kohli

Following the game, Kohli gifted a signed RCB jersey to the young spinner, with the message "Dear Noor, well bowled. Wish you the best." The Afghanistan bowler took to Instagram to share a picture on his story and wrote, "always one of my fav. Thanks Virat Kohli."

Virat Kohli showed aggressive intent from the start during the run chase, hitting a six off his second ball. Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis dominated the Gujarat Titans' bowling attack, adding 92 runs in just 5.5 overs. Du Plessis scored 64 off 23 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes, before getting out.

Faf du Plessis's dismissal triggered a collapse for RCB. The team collapsed to 117-6 from a strong position of 92-0. However, Dinesh Karthik (21*) and Swapnil Singh (15*) steadied the innings and guided RCB to victory in the 14th over. Mohammed Siraj was named the Player of the Match for his figures of 2/29.

We've Been Really Good - Faf Du Plessis

RCB captain Faf du Plessis expressed satisfaction with the team's performance in the recent match. Du Plessis admitted that they should have assessed the situation better during the chase, especially after losing early wickets.

"We've been really good in the last few games, with both bat and ball. We've been unbelievable in the field as well. The wicket was a bit different, there was a bit more bounce. Wanted to make sure we take that information from the pitch and give it to the bowlers. Yes, there was a dropped catch but it's the effort that we look for and that was there throughout," Faf du Plessis said.

"The games we've played here have all been high-scoring, anything around 180-190 would've been par. Was important we didn't look at the scoreboard when we went out to bat and try and play the way we play. Was a bit nervous. Probably not the best assessment from us there. Yes, we wanted to go out there and get the total quickly to boost the NRR but probably when we were 4 down, we had to calm down a little bit."
