The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a record profit from hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just hours after the BCCI declared the INR 58 crore prize for the Indian cricket team, honoring them for their victorious campaign.
The Pakistan Cricket Board revealed that they earned PKR 3 billion (approximately Rs 92.44 crore) from hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, despite more than half of the matches being held in Dubai, where India played all their matches and won the title for the record third time.
PCB reveals profit from ICC Champions Trophy 2025 amid financial loss claims
The PCB advisor Amir Mir has strongly reacted to reports suggesting Pakistan faced massive financial losses by hosting the Champions Trophy 2025. However, Mir dismissed reports of financial losses and called the reports false propaganda.

Earlier, The Telegraph Online report claimed that the PCB had spent heavily on stadium upgrades, estimating the costs to be around PKR 18 billion (approximately INR 555 crore), which was 50% over budget. Additionally, there were event expenses of around $40 million (INR 333 crore), pushing total tournament spending to PKR 30 billion (INR 926 crore).
Despite the significant spending, the Pakistan Cricket Board only received a $6 million (INR 50 crore) hosting fee from the ICC, and they earned the same amount from ticket sales. According to these figures, the tournament host suffered a loss of over $85 million (approximately INR 733 crore).
Pakistan Cricket Board expects an additional Rs 3 billion from ICC post-audit
However, Amir Mir dismissed these reports, claiming that the ICC covered all costs related to the Champions Trophy 2025. He also revealed that the PCB expects to receive an additional Rs 3 billion from the ICC after the final audit, which would further add financial benefits for the board.
Amir Mir said at the press conference, “All expenses for the tournament were covered by the ICC. The PCB generated revenue through gate money and ticket sales. Additionally, after the audit, we expect to receive another Rs 3 billion from the ICC.”
Additionally, Mir has announced that PCB’s total revenue for 2023-24 reached ₹10 billion under chairman Mohsin Naqvi, witnessing a significant 40% increase from the previous year. He also revealed that the PCB paid PKR 40 million in taxes during this period.
PCB among top-3 richest cricket boards!!!
The board advisor further claimed that PCB is now among the top three richest cricket boards in the world. However, reports claimed that domestic players faced massive pay cuts, with their match fees reduced by 90%. However, the PCB revised the payments following the public backlash, but players still ended up earning less than before.
Additionally, they also downgraded the players’ accommodations from five-star hotels to budget stays as part of their cost-cutting, which further raised concerns about the financial condition of Pakistan cricket. The PCB has also promised to publish all financial details on its website soon.
