PCB Releases A New Schedule As Cricket Australia Confirm Their Visit To Pakistan After 24 Years

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has released a new schedule for the upcoming Australian series, a series that will be historical in many ways as Australia tour the Men in Green after 24 years. Pakistan has been devoid of international cricket due to the constant internal and external acts of terrorism and teams have considered playing at a neutral venue for the last 15 years.
Since the attack on the Sri Lankan team back in 2009, all the major cricketing nations have avoided a Pakistan tour and the Men in Green have been forced to play in the UAE more often than not. In fact, Pakistan’s premier T20 League, the Pakistan Super League has also been played in the UAE for the majority of its existence.
PCB Releases A Revised Schedule For Australia Series
Over the last couple of years, international teams have once again started touring Pakistan. However, New Zealand’s last-minute pullback from the tour in 2021 and England refusing to tour the country came as a massive blow for the Pakistan cricketing fraternity. Now, Cricket Australia (CA) has given a green signal for the tour and the dates have been stamped.
As per the new schedule, the Kangaroos will be playing a three-match Test series, a three-match ODI series, and a one-off T20I in Pakistan which will commence from March 04 and the tour will come to an end on April 05. However, this might also bring in the possibility of a lot of Australian cricketers skipping the white-ball formats as IPL 2022 is likely to begin from March 27 in India.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet announced the schedule of the cash-rich league but several members of the board including President Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the tournament is most likely to commence in the final week of March with it being the grandest edition of the tournament so far.
Revised schedule of Australia’s tour of Pakistan 2022:
27 Feb – Arrival in Islamabad
4-8 Mar – 1st Test, Rawalpindi
12-16 Mar – 2nd Test, Karachi
21-25 Mar – 3rd Test, Lahore

31 Mar – 2nd ODI, Rawalpindi
2 April – 3rd ODI, Rawalpindi
