People May Forget His Real Name, But Will Always Remember Mr. 360 Degree: Virender Sehwag On AB De Villiers

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has heaped high praise on former South African skipper and Royal Challengers Bangalore swashbuckler, AB de Villiers, for the manner in which he played in the recent IPL.
De Villiers, who had retired from international cricket in 2018, hadn’t played any competitive cricket in the lead-up to IPL 2021, but it did reflect in his performances as ‘Mr 360’ batted like ‘Mr 360’ and peeled off three match-winning knocks in seven outings.
Heaping high praise on AB de Villiers, Virender Sehwag said that people might forget his real name in the future but they will always remember him as ‘Mr.360’.
“People may forget his real name, but will always remember Mr. 360 degree. I don’t think we need to give him any other name because how many can you even come up with. 360 degree is a good enough name. In the match against Delhi Capitals, when he left a few balls from Marcus Stoinis outside off-stump, he realised he left a wrong ball. Off the next ball, he went outside off, and even though he was expecting a similar delivery, it was a short-pitched ball and he hit a six,”Virender Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
De Villiers’ late-over flourish which included him scoring 23 runs in the final over bowled by Marcus Stoinis proved to be the difference in the end as RCB eventually won the game by 1 run.
“Only AB de Villiers could have done that. Had there been any other batsman, he would have gone outside off and instead ducked to the short ball or may have gotten out. I think only de Villiers could have connected. So, no need to look for any more adjectives or songs or poems. 360 degree is the perfect name,” Sehwag added.
