Pleased To See How Virat Kohli's Career Has Shaped In The Last Decade - Sachin Tendulkar

Former Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar expressed happiness over the progress of Indian batter, Virat Kohli, since the early days of his career. When Kohli started out, Tendulkar was still part of the side and he ended up learning a lot from the Master Blaster.
The two cricketers are good friends, as stated by Tendulkar, and Kohli’s career growth is something that pleases Tendulkar to no end. Kohli slowly rose through the ranks and became India’s best all-format batter and one of the world’s best as well.
“Virat is a good friend. So pleased to see how his career has shaped in the last decade. When I started, I was part of the team at that time and I could see that fire and hunger in him. And from thereon, how he has worked hard on his game and how he has changed his lifestyle to achieve what he has been able to… has been remarkable.”

“Virat has been tremendous. He has done tremendously well and there is so much to happen in his career from here on. We all at some stage in our career, need heroes and the players who have that impact on their generation, motivate so many guys,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying to Graham Bensinger.
“Virat contacted me and he wanted me to spend some time with him” – Sachin Tendulkar
Post-retirement, Tendulkar was keen on helping Kohli out and when the latter contacted him, he was happy to help. It is well known that Kohli idolises Tendulkar as do most of the Indian cricketers and spending time with his idol helped Kohli improve his game.
“In 2014, I remember meeting him and we discussed a couple of things where I felt he could get better. I have always believed in helping players and sharing my knowledge, whatever inputs I have… I’ve always been open to that.”
Since then, Kohli has gone on to lead India in all three formats until recently.
