"Politics wins, talent loses" - Twitter slams BCCI as Ruturaj Gaikwad gets dropped for Sri Lanka tour

Fans on Twitter reacted after India batter Ruturaj Gaikwad was dropped from the Indian team for the T20I and the ODI series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. India will be playing three T20Is and three ODIs on their tour, starting from 27th July.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday (18th July) announced the Indian squad for the ODI and the T20I series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. Rohit Sharma will be leading the team in 50-over format while Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as captain of T20Is
The squad saw some surprise picks as well and there were quite a few notable omissions as well. One of the names that was missing from the team was Ruturaj Gaikwad. The right-hander didn’t feature in both squads.
While the seniors were back in the ODIs, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s absence was understandable but it took many by surprise when his name wasn’t there in the T20I team. The batter has been one of the consistent performers for the team in the format.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was also part of the Zimbabwe T20Is and he was one of the best performers for the team. He was asked to bat at different positions and he made sure that he repaid the faith of the management and came up with match-winning performances in the series.
He slammed one half-century and scored 49 runs in the third game. The batter ended the series with 133 runs in the three innings at an average of over 66. The right-hander is the second highest-ranked Indian batter in the ICC Rankings as he is 8th on the table.
In the 7 innings in the T20I, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been an absolute beast. The right-hander has an average of 71.2 and a strike rate of 158.7, which depicts the kind of performance he has put in the format for India.
