Gary Kirsten, Pakistan's white-ball coach, has submitted a detailed report to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi regarding the team's early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. Mohsin Naqvi will evaluate Pakistan's underwhelming campaign in the ICC event in the USA and the West Indies.

The Men in Green suffered a group-stage exit from the T20 World Cup 2024 due to their disappointing performances. The Pakistan team was unable to progress to the Super 8s after defeats to the United States of America in Group A. The Babar Azam-led team couldn't secure a top-two finish in their group.

The Pakistan team, led by Babar Azam, secured victories only against Canada and Ireland and failed to advance further in the tournament. Their overall performance drew harsh criticism from fans and former cricketers, prompting the PCB chief to announce significant changes in the squad after the ICC event.

Gary Kirsten Has Raised Significant Concerns - Report

Local media reported that Gary Kirsten has forwarded a confidential report to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for evaluation. Sources reveal that the report analyzes the Pakistan team's disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup, focusing on fitness levels, discipline, and game awareness among the players.

"Gary Kirsten has raised significant concerns about the players' fitness," the report stated.

The PCB is currently waiting for reports from Gary Kirsten and Wahab Riaz before making any decisions about the team's future. PCB Chief Naqvi plans to thoroughly review the findings in the report and discuss them with other PCB officials and former cricketers before deciding on the next steps forward.

Criticism The Team Is Facing Is Justified - Mohammad Rizwan

Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Mohammad Rizwan acknowledged the criticism faced by Pakistan's team due to their poor performance in the T20 World Cup. Rizwan highlighted that they cannot say that bowling and batting are doing well when a team underperforms.

The star wicketkeeper-batsman also added that they disappointed the fans of the Pakistan National Cricket Team by not playing as per expectations in the recently concluded ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. He also admitted that there are several reasons behind the failure of the team in recent times in world cricket.

India secured the T20 World Cup 2024 title by defeating South Africa in the final match held in Barbados. The Indian cricket team achieved a seven-run victory to claim their second T20 World Cup title. India had previously won in 2007 against Pakistan. India joined England and the West Indies as two-time champions.

The Pakistan national cricket team has already secured qualification for the next edition of the T20 World Cup in 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The Men in Green are in seventh place in the latest ICC T20I rankings, ensuring their participation in the tournament in 2026.
