Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh is accused of maintaining a poor lifestyle amid the ongoing Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) season. At one point in the title contest, the PBKS opener was among the leading run scorers across the teams.

But now, like the team's performance, Prabhsimran Singh’s individual performance is also in a declining phase. In the last three fixtures, the batter was dismissed cheaply early in the innings.

Prabhsimran Singh's fitness under scrutiny

On May 12, a RevSportz journalist named Subhayan Chakraborty claimed that Prabhsimran and some other PBKS players are leading a poor lifestyle, which has affected their on-field performances. He also claimed that Prabhsimran Singh has gained around 10 kg in recent weeks.

“Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh has gained around 10kgs in recent weeks. The players have become lax. They play games till the morning and avoid going to practice sessions. Players are missing flights, losing games. No wonder they are going through a poor run of form,” according to the ‘X’ post.

Punjab Kings lost in 4 consecutive games

Punjab Kings is currently on a 4-match losing streak. They got defeated against the Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals, respectively. In those four games, the keeper-batter was dismissed quickly in three games. So far, the opener has scored 382 runs in 10 innings with a strike rate of 169.02 and a batting average of 42.44.

For a significant amount of time, PBKS was at the top of the points table as the only undefeated team in the title race. In the second half of the group phase, the team’s performance dropped, and they slipped to 4th from the number 1 spot of the points table. Because of the 4 back-to-back defeats, the Shreyas Iyer-led team is situated at the 4th spot with 13 points from 11 games.

PBKS urged the fans to be sensible

Multiple theories are circulating across social media platforms regarding the Punjab Kings. As there are too many claims on the internet, it has become very hard for cricket fans to find out which is real and which is fake.

Because of the increasing claims and speculations, the franchise has released an official statement from their verified accounts, urging the fans to avoid the claims, which are not true.

“Criticism, banter, and opinions are part of sport. Fake stories and made-up narratives for cheap engagement are not. We urge everyone to verify facts before spreading misinformation for attention or traction,’ the franchise mentioned.

However, there is no denying that, along with Prabhsimran Singh, the team will have to revive their form so that they can get back to the winning streak to cement their place in the top four.
