Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg said Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will face pressure in the upcoming tournaments after IPL 2022. Since Rohit took over the full-fledged captaincy of the Indian team in all formats, the 34-year-old has won the T20I series against New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka.

India has whitewashed all the white-ball series including the three-match ODI series against West Indies under the leadership of Rohit. Rohit also marked his debut in the red-ball format on a winning note as India thumped Sri Lanka 2-0 with both the matches finished inside three days.

Most of the Indian players have left to join the camps of their IPL teams as everyone is gearing up for the 15th edition of the lucrative tournament. The Indian team will resume their international fixtures after the completion of IPL 2022.

Rohit Sharma & co will host South Africa for a five-match T20I series followed by the United Kingdom tour where they play a couple of T20I matches against Ireland before they clash with England to complete the fifth Test match, which will determine the result of India’s tour of England 2021.

I want to see Rohit Sharma under pressure: Brad Hogg

After the solitary Test, India will be involved in three ODIs and as many T20Is against England until July 17. Hogg is of the opinion that pressure tournaments will be the ultimate test for Rohit Sharma- the captain.

“India have got four Test matches against Australia, that’s going to be tough for Rohit Sharma. I want to see him under pressure. Will he keep that same calm body language or will we see a little bit of temper? He has got a T20 series against South Africa at home, a tour of England, and the T20 World Cup Down Under. So, the pressure tournaments are coming for Rohit right now,” he said.

India’s win percentage across all three formats in the 2021-22 home season was 93.7 as they have won 15 of 16 matches, only Australia has a better record of 100% win record during the 2000-01 home season.
