She revealed that other people's opinions had influenced her decision to end the relationship with the Indian batter. Akriti Agarwal has confirmed that she and Prithvi Shaw are now back as a couple after having honest conversations with the Indian cricketer and understanding each other better.
In her Instagram statement, Akriti admitted that she allowed people close to her to influence her views about Shaw and their relationship. The actor-influencer felt that she had made the decision to end their engagement without having the honest conversation they both deserved.
Akriti also took responsibility for the hurt caused by her decision to call off their engagement and asked people to respect their choice. She made it clear that the couple wanted to move forward together without allowing outside opinions to affect their relationship.
Akriti Agarwal admits outside opinions influenced her decision
Akriti wrote on her Instagram: “A personal clarification. When I called off our engagement, I let the opinions of people close to me who seemed to know our relationship better than we did influence how I saw my fiancé and our relationship. I feel I was misguided, and I made a decision without giving us the honest conversation we deserved.”
She continued, “I take responsibility for that decision and the hurt it caused. We have since spoken openly, understood each other and chosen to be together again. Together, we are enough for each other, and we don't need anyone else. This time, I want our future to be guided by our own understanding, trust and love. Please respect our decision as we begin again.”

Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal had announced their engagement in March 2026 by sharing pictures of their proposal on social media. However, in September, Akriti revealed that they had decided to separate because of different goals and circumstances.

Prithvi Shaw eyes strong comeback
Now, it seems that things are moving in a positive direction in his personal life, and Prithvi Shaw is also working hard to rebuild his career. Ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season, Shaw moved from Mumbai to Maharashtra in search of a fresh start.
He also made a brilliant 222 against Chandigarh in the Ranji Trophy last season. Shaw has started the 2026-27 domestic season on a positive note as well, scoring 70 runs off 73 balls for Maharashtra against Services in New Delhi on Sunday.
