Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw has reacted to his omission from the squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. The batter floated his record in List A cricket, saying that things can't get worse for him as he has such a great record.
Young batter Prithvi Shaw failed to make the cut into the Mumbai team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. The batter was dropped from the team as the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday (17th December) announced the strong 17-member squad for the tournament.
Prithvi Shaw recently played the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 for Mumbai
Shaw recently played the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 for Mumbai. However, he didn't have the kind of outing he would've wanted in the tournament. The batter failed to set the stage on fire, and it seems he has paid the price for it by not being named in the squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Overall, in the domestic circuit this year, Shaw was a big disappointment. He was dropped from the squad midway through the Ranji Trophy after playing 4 games in which he scored 59 runs. In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, he mustered 197 runs at an average of 21.88 with the best of 49 runs, which came against Vidarbha in the quarterfinal.
It was expected that Shaw would get included in the team for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, especially with the kind of record that he has in the 50-over cricket. But his name not being there was a big surprise.
I will keep my faith in you, and hopefully, people believe in me still. cause I will come back for sure - Prithvi Shaw
Not only happy with his omission, Shaw took to his Instagram account and expressed his disappointment. He pointed out that he has scored 3,399 runs from 65 innings at an average of 55.7. But also kept his faith in the god, saying that he would be making a comeback for sure. Taking to his Instagram account, he explained:
"Tell me, God, what more do I have to see.if 65 innings, 3399 runs at an average of 55.7 with a strike rate of 126, I'm not good enough..but I will keep my faith in you, and hopefully, people believe in me still. cause I will come back for sure..OM SAI RAM.."

The Last few months have been tough for Prithvi Shaw
Shaw, when he dropped from the Ranji Trophy, was asked to ask to lose a few extra kilos and improve his fitness. Although the exact reason behind him getting dropped is not known, there are chances that he might have been dropped due to fitness issues.
The past few months haven't been easy for Prithvi Shaw. He also went unsold in the Indian Premier League auction. And now getting dropped, it remains to be seen what will be his future.
