Talented Indopener Prithvi Shaw who was dropped from the Indian Test squad is likely to be back in the Indian ODI squad after some consistent big performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Prithvi Shaw was under scrutiny for his technique against the moving ball but seems to have got rid of the flaws and has broken a lot of records during his purple patch now.
Shaw reached his fourth hundred with an excellent 165 in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinal against Karnataka and became the highest run-scorer in a single edition of the tournament surpassing Mayank Agarwal’s tally of 723 runs in 2018.

Shaw is knocking the doors for his selection in the Indian limited-overs team and he could be on the verge of hampering the career of these 4 Indian batsmen.
Prithvi Shaw’s Scintillating Form Will Hamper The Career Of These 4 Indian Batsmen:
Shikhar Dhawan:

Shikhar Dhawan has been a prolific run-scorer for India in the limited-overs setup and has been in good form in the IPL too for the Delhi Capitals where he finished as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament. In the 139 games he has played for India in the 50 over format, Dhawan has scored 5808 runs at an average of 45 with 17 centuries.
Despite his good performances, Prithvi Shaw’s current form could get the nod, and also with age being a factor, India will be looking to build on Prithvi Shaw. Both play for the Delhi Capitals franchise and have opened a lot of games together. With Rohit being a certainty for the opening slot, Dhawan will be under pressure to perform consistently or Prithi could make the place his own.
Mayank Agarwal:

Mayank Agarwal will feel very unlucky to have missed out as an opener in the Indian test side due to an impressive showing from Shubman Gill in Australia. Agarwal has had an excellent start to his Test career scoring 1052 runs in the 14 tests he has played and has three centuries already to his name with the highest score of 243.
Mayank couldn’t make use of the opportunities he had in ODIs and has scored 86 runs in the 5 games he has played so far. With Prithvi Shaw’s current blazing form, Agarwal could be the one to miss out from the Indian squads to accommodate Shaw for the limited-overs series. Also, Agarwal will need some big performances in the IPL to make his way back to the Indian side.
Shubman Gill:
Gill who started with a lot of expectations from the experts did not have the best of time as he succumbed to the moving ball from the likes of England fast bowlers. His shot selections were poor and did not judge the length and line properly showing signs of inexperience in him. With Prithvi Shaw scoring hundreds, It is time for Gill to pull up his socks or he could drop out from the playing XI soon.
Devdutt Padikkal:

Devdutt Padikkal has been equally best in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy but with a lot of daddy hundreds from Prithvi Shaw, the Mumbai batsman might get the nod ahead for a place in the Indian squad. The ongoing semifinal saw Prithvi Shaw leaping front ahead of Padikkal in the tournament’s highest run scorers.
Padikkal will get his chance in the IPL for the RCB and he will have to keep performing consistently with Prithvi Shaw being a tough competitor for him now. It will be interesting to see if India prefers Prithvi ahead of Padikkal for the England fifty-over series which will also be curtains for the Karnataka opener despite his excellent run of form.
