Quetta Gladiators’ Faf Du Plessis will miss the remaining matches of PSL 2021 as the concussion he suffered has proved to be detrimental. On Sunday, Faf Du Plessis underwent a heavy collision in the match against Peshawar Zalmi in Abu Dhabi, suffering some severe after-effects. The former South African captain will fly back home on Wednesday night.
Faf Du Plessis and Mohammad Hasnain suffered a collision on the field as they attempted to stop a drive from David Miller. Mohammad Hasnain, running from long-off, made a late attempt to avoid running into his teammate. But Du Plessis, who dived from long-off after sprinting copped a blow off Hasnain’s knee to his head as the Pakistan speedster could not pull away.
The right-handed batsman lay on the ground for a few minutes as the team’s physio came to attend him. However, he was able to get back to his feet and walk out of the ground. Nevertheless, the concussion suffered by Du Plessis meant that he could not bat and Saim Ayub took his place.
